UPSON: CHELSEA AND SPURS FAVOURITE FOR TOP FOUR

Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to finish in the final two Champions League spots, but Arsenal could launch a top-four challenge if they can maintain their current form, according to Matthew Upson.

Tottenham are in pole position to finish in third place after Mauricio Pochettino’s side were 3-1 winners against Chelsea FC at Wembley last weekend, thanks to goals from Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Spurs are in third spot and two points ahead of Chelsea FC in the Premier League table while Arsenal are in fifth place and a point behind Maurizio Sarri’s men after 13 games in the English top flight.

Arsenal finished outside the Champions League spots in Arsene Wenger’s final season in charge and Unai Emery lost to Manchester City and Chelsea FC in his first two games in charge at The Emirates.

However, the North London side have responded in style following a return of eight victories and three stalemates to mount a surprise top four challenge.

Emery’s men will have the chance to make up ground on Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and Arsenal can hoist themselves above Spurs with a victory in the North London derby.

Former Gunners defender Upson believes Arsenal have an outside chance of a top four finish but makes Chelsea FC and Spurs favorites to secure the final two Champions League places.

Chelsea were so bad on Saturday they have come in for a lot of criticism, but I think it is wrong to say that game shows Sarri’s side have been found out,” Upson told BBC Sport.

“Jorginho has shown he can set the tempo for the way they want to play but I don’t think stopping him means you stop the Blues, they have far too many other good players for that.”
